Paper Guide
Our Paper Guide is to help you as the customer understand the different paper terms used in the print industry.
Gloss paper has a shiny and lustrous smooth coated gloss finish. Excellent for making full colour printing appear more vibrant.
Matte/Silk paper is a dull coated sheet that exhibits low gloss finish. Paper has minimal glare, making it easier to read text.
Uncoated paper is easy to write on and should be used in projects such as a workbook or colouring book.
Paper weights are how the print industry discuss the thickness of paper.
The lower the number the thinner the paper is.
For example your normal laser paper you use in your home printer is 80gsm and the cover on a glossy magazine could be 250gsm or higher.
A postcard is normally printed on a heavy weight paper ie 350gsm
